Weather and its Effects!

Picture
Mother nature has caused many problems for us over the years. Every year at least we have one major storm which places many households without power and even damages other infrastructure. The biggest disaster caused by a power station was a hydroelectricity plant which was designed for flooding but in a once in 2000 year event the Banqiao Dam in China was destroyed creating a 10km wide wall of water travelling at 50 kilometres per hour causing over 26,000 deaths and hundreds of thousands effected by the floods. In Australia we have something called bushfires which can burn power stations or the heat can damage power lines which can blackout entire areas or cause a thinning of power causing a brownout. Also storms can cause flooding of the mines making them undiggable or dangerous to work in which causes a lack of coal and power stations can't meet demand.
